My name is Liana Silva-Ford, and this is my site.
Once upon a time… I lived in New York City. Then I moved with my parents to a little island in the Caribbean called Puerto Rico. Then I obtained a fellowship for graduate school at a university in Upstate New York. Then I had a daughter and moved to Kansas City with my boyfriend. Then I became an adjunct. Then I got out of the adjuncting racket. Then I finished my PhD and got married. Now I write, edit on the side, and work as an alternative academic. I am a reader, a writer, a listener, an out-of-work teacher, a girlfriend, a daughter, and a mother. I also think too much about popular culture, and watch too much tv. It all comes together in this blog.
Wow sounds like your life is quite similar to mine! I never lived in NYC, but I’m from upstate NY.. I moved to a little island in the Caribbean about 4 years ago.. and we moved back to NY a year ago. I miss the warmth.. and dream of returning! Can’t wait to read more of your blog
